About us

The Development of the Youth of Chester Charity is a small Registered Charity (No. 1018764) which came into existence in 1992. Its trustees normally meet twice each year and seeks to provide grants of about £15,000 in total during the year.

The charity’s income comes entirely from investments purchased following the sale of a building in Chester.

Grants are given to promote the spiritual, mental, moral and physical training of persons who are resident or being educated in the City of Chester and thereby form their character and develop good citizenship.

Grants can be provided to individuals (typically in their late teens) or organisations serving that age group.

Grants can also be provided for the needs, either general or individual, of the pupils of the schools of the Chester Blue Coat Church of England Educational Foundation (The Bishops’ Blue Coat CofE High School, Chester Blue Coat CofE Primary School and Hoole CofE Primary School).
